Art Raffle in aid of Médecins Sans Frontières27 February 2015 Uncategorized
We’ve featured a few articles on this page about our good friend Andy Dennis and his outstanding work for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). It’s a cause that is very close to our hearts. MSF is an international medical humanitarian organisation providing aid in nearly 80 countries. It operates free of any political, military, or religious agendas, bringing impartial assistance to those most in need. Although MSF is continually operating in difficult situations to fight the effects of disease and violence, most recently it has been in the media due to the important fight against the ebola virus.

Thank You!25 January 2015 Uncategorized
We had a fantastic time at our 5th birthday party last night. A full story will follow in a day or two, but we just wanted to say a quick thank you to all our wonderful regular customers, colleagues, friends and family who attended, and for the many generous cards and gifts. Thanks to Lenka, Danny and Johnny for pulling shots and pints all evening. Special thanks to Norse for providing delicious canapés, BAD Company of Knaresborough for specially crafted coffee beer and New Generation Wines for prosecco. Not forgetting the spectacular Six Harmonies Lion Dance Crew. Watch this space for full story and photos, but in the meantime sincere, proud and humble thanks again.
Bean & Bud is 5: Let’s Celebrate!5 January 2015 Uncategorized
Just over 5 years ago, Hayden and I set off from our London home in a large removal van full of all our worldly goods, including a picnic cooler full of goldfish, to set up a new life and our own business in Harrogate, in what had previously been a video hire shop.
Best Filter Coffee 20142 January 2015 Uncategorized
Brian’s Coffee Spot is a well-known and well-respected blog in the coffee world. Yesterday Brian announced the results of his annual awards (20 in all). We were pretty thrilled to be awarded Best Filter Coffee of 2014. We have really been building up our filter coffee offering, it’s becoming more and more popular with customers. We offer a separate coffee option for our brewed coffees, roasted a little lighter and usually from a different varietal or origin which works better for brewed coffee. Why not try one for a change next time you’re at Bean & Bud.
Seasons Greetings19 December 2014 Uncategorized
As Christmas and the New Year approach, a very sincere thank you to all our great customers and wonderful staff for a great 2014. It has been a brilliant year for us, including adding to our team of great baristas who work with passion, dedication and attention to detail. This has been reflected in our success in the Beverage Standards Awards, where we won 2 national awards as well as 5-Cup (Outstanding) Accreditation.

We had a lovely time at the Beverage Standards Association Awards evening at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on Monday evening 10 November. It was great to meet some old and some new friends, talk shop as much as we wanted and have a great get together with like minded people.
Care & Consistency: the weigh we do it!24 September 2014 Uncategorized
It’s really important to us that each and every cup of coffee or tea we send out achieves the highest levels of quality. There are several ways to ensure this, of course the first step is that we use the very best beans and leaves to start with! However, to ensure consistency across every drink we use precision in the form of weighing all the shots, pots and brews that we pour.
Our Inspiration4 September 2014 Uncategorized
We really do get some fantastic coffees at Bean & Bud! One of the best things about our job is working with great roasters, following the harvests and seeing which coffees are available when and bringing our customers a varied changing coffee programme.
Heroes not required…13 August 2014 Uncategorized
Our good friend Andy Dennis gave an inspiring talk last week on his work with Doctors Without Borders. Although the sub heading was ‘heroes not required’, I think all those who attended the talk might disagree and feel that those working for MSF under such stressful conditions are the true heroes in this world. If you missed Andy’s talk it was videoed on the night, so you can catch it here and donate if you can: your chance to make a real difference: Andy Dennis talk re Medecins Sans Frontieres
