And the winner is… Bean & Bud!29 September 2017 Uncategorized
We were thrilled to be shortlisted for best Coffee and Tea Shop in the Yorkshire Life Food & Drink Awards, and attended a wonderful lunch at Rudding Park on Monday 25 September. Among other excellent businesses and after a beautifully presented and delicious lunch prepared by Rudding Head Chef Matthew Wilkinson and his team, the awards were presented. There were 15 awards in total, and we were absolutely thrilled when our name was called as the winner of the Best Coffee and Tea Shop! The judges had been impressed not only by the quality of our offering but also our knowledge and passion. It is really great to have our work and passion appreciated in this way. Thanks to our wonderful team, our suppliers and our customers – we couldn’t do it without all of you. Cheers!
Just a Coffee?9 March 2017 Uncategorized
What does coffee mean to you? A shot of energy to get you going in the morning? A little treat on your way to do some shopping? A mid-morning pick-me-up? A cup of coffee is all this and more. How much thought do you give to where your coffee comes from? For us here at Bean & Bud, the perfect cup of coffee is the end of a journey. It’s the result of many people’s care, hard work and passion. Which is why we never treat is as ‘just a coffee’.

Our favourite time of year!3 October 2016 Uncategorized
Keats called it the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness. Many people love autumn for its beautiful colours, the slight nip in the air, the bright but cold mornings. For us autumn means our favourite time of year in terms of coffee seasonality: many of our favourite coffees come out at this time of year.

We have just relaunched our tea menu boards so that they include detailed information on origin, process, tasting notes and supplier, in the way that we do for coffee. Milk & sugar? No thanks!11 July 2016 Uncategorized
Why do the English put milk in their tea? There are many myths and theories about this. One theory is that in Victorian times, if one was using inferior quality china cups, putting cold milk in the cup before adding hot tea prevented the china from cracking!
Whatever the reason, it is certainly not to improve the flavour. If you use good quality loose leaf tea and brew it properly, it produces a wonderful bright and complex brew which will only be masked and spoiled by adding milk.
